The cedar-plank creates a deliciously smoky taste on the salmon.
Ingredients
- 2 Salmon filets cut to fit a Cedar Plank
- Big Green Egg Sweet & Smoky Seasoning
- Thai sweet chile sauce
Instructions
Set the EGG for direct cooking at 350°F/177°C.
Place the cedar planks in a pan, cover with water and soak for about 2 hours.
Season the salmon with Big Green Egg Sweet & Smoky Seasoning. Warm the Thai Chili Sauce in the sauce pot.
Place the plank on cooking grid, close the dome and heat for about 2 minutes. Using tongs, flip the plank, and then place a salmon on heated side of plank. Coat the salmon with the warm sauce. Close the dome and cook for 20-25 minutes.
Remove from the plank from the EGG and serve.
Tried this for my second ever cook on the Egg. Followed recipe……best grilled salmon I have ever cooked. Will definitely save this one. Had filets for dinner and used the rest for a mixed greens salmon salad for dinner the next day.
I made this tonight for the family. I had a hard time keeping the egg at 350, but I am still new to the BGE. The recipe was simple and easy to follow. Salmon is pretty forgiving and takes so many different flavors. I grilled a new york strip and some asparagus along with the salmon and they all turned out great.
This is an amazing recipe. So easy and so tasty. Will definitely make again.
Wow, it was great and trying it again tonight. The sweet chile sauce really makes it nice.
I prepared this last weekend, although I am not a big salmon eater I fixed for my sister. Unbelievable turn out and I now have added this to routine recipe. Simple, delicious and amazing flavor
Being from Alaska, and a former commercial salmon fisherman, I consider myself an accomplished salmon cook . . . With one minor spice variation, this was probably my best salmon ever. Simple, yet an elegant flavor I would serve to anyone.
What was your spice variation?
