The new style hinge works
"The new style hinge works great. I wish I wouldn’t have farted around trying to make the original hinge work and not have an overbite. Directions for install are best left to this YouTube person: adventureswithjayusa9570."

At first it appeared intimidating
"At first it appeared intimidating but the directions were great and I was able to complete the process in a short period of time. All is good now."
This is the third time
"This is the third time I’ve changed the product. I am pleased with the changes made over the years. I purchased my egg , I believe in 1998. Since it resides outdoors, three revisions are to be expected."
Very good product< ran out
"Very good product< ran out of fastening nuts hasd to cannibalize an old egg just doesnt look right' do not see an option to purchase 4 or 6 nuts the closer hinge is far superir to the origina lifhter force and smoother operation/. would benefit for an option to purchase a kit with more hardware thank you, Robert"

This purchase is fabulous!!! The
"This purchase is fabulous!!! The mechanism to raise the BGE cover has frozen and needed to be replaced. The replacement band and lift mechanism arrived just a few days after ordering. It took only an hour to put together. The lift mechanism has been totally redesigned and it works incredibly well. The cover is now perfectly centered on the body of the smoker and everything is functioning BETTER THAN BRAND NEW. Thank you Big Green Egg!!!!"
Easy install. Big improvement over
"Easy install. Big improvement over original old style hinge."
Going with 4 stars on
"Going with 4 stars on this one. The product works well and fixes the underhang of my green egg lid, but set aside a couple of hours for assembling this thing and aligning it. There really isn't a good reason they could not have assembled it a bit more from the factory other than requiring a slightly larger box. Still, I would order again if needed (hopefully not for a long time)."
