"Granted the wooden handle looks great when new but not so much as it weathers. Was encouraged when I saw the soft handle as a replacement. Love my eggs, yes I have two? After rebuilding the egg that I bought in the mid 80’s, my dealer had a Large that he made me a great deal. He helped me with the refurbish so someone will enjoy my grills . The new grill has better casters so no fear of a possible turn over. I should update the old casters, they don’t roll. I could go on and on but I usually let my food do all the talking."

"Much better than the original handle. This one helps keep the upper dome band where it should be and doesn't get slippery. Love it."

"Easy to replace. The original handle had wood, which after years of use was starting to separate from the metal, causing it to become hot. While smoking ribs for five hours, handle was cool to the touch when I had to open the lid."
