Decadence at its finest—this Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Pie blends rich, velvety chocolate, a splash of smooth bourbon, and the crunch of toasted pecans for a show-stopping dessert that’s perfect for any occasion.

Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Pie

Ingredients

  • 1 Pie Crust
  • 1 Cup Light Corn Syrup or Karo syrup.
  • 1 1/2 C Pecans
  • 4 Tbsp Melted Unsalted Butter
  • 4 Eggs
  • 1/2 C Hard Packed Brown Sugar
  • 1/4 C Semisweet chocolate chips
  • 2 Tbsp Bourbon
  • 1/4 tsp Salt

Directions

  1. Pull out your pie crust and let come to room temperature before beginning.
  2. Pre-heat Big Green Egg to 350° F. Wait for a clean, clear smoke is observed before placing pie on the Egg. You want a clean fire.

  3. While your Egg is preheating you can start making your pie. Mix your syrup, brown sugar, melted butter (make sure it’s not hot before adding eggs), eggs, bourbon, salt, pecans (1 cup, reserve 1/2 cup to top) and chocolate chips. And stir together until it’s all incorporated.

  4. Roll out your pie crust into a greased pie pan. Crimp the crust edges for appearance. Fill the crust with your mixture and add the remaining pecans (whole pieces) to the top to dress it up.

  5. Place onto your Egg and let cook for about 40 minutes, at this point check for doneness. If it’s not done this time, come back in another 10 minutes and check until it’s done to your liking.
