Melissa's Hatch Steak Sandwich


Ingredients

  • 1 lb flank steak
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 Hatch green chilies, roasted and sliced
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp lime juice

Instructions

Method: Direct grilling

  1. Set the EGG for direct cooking at 450°F/232°C.
  2. Rub steak with olive oil, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  3. Grill for 5-6 minutes per side until medium-rare.
  4. Let steak rest for 5 minutes before slicing thinly.
  5. Toast hoagie rolls on the grill.
  6. Mix mayonnaise and lime juice, spread on rolls.
  7. Top with steak slices, Hatch chilies, and Monterey Jack cheese.
  8. Serve warm.
