Getting Started

Master your Big Green Egg by setting it up correctly for the perfect grilling experience. Achieving the right temperature and setup brings out the best flavors in any dish.

Preheat to the Right Temperature

Heat the Egg to 350°F-475°F for optimal grilling.

Choose the Right Cooking Surface

Use a stainless-steel grid for classic grilling or cast iron for deep sears.

Setting Up Your Egg

Setting up to grill on your Egg is easy. Load and light your Egg, using 100% natural charcoal, adding wood chips for enhanced smoky flavor. Get it to around 400˚F, then simply add your chosen cooking surface on top of the Fire Ring.

Close the Lid

An open lid makes for unpredictable flames, excessively hot temperatures and an uneven cook. The key here is to grill with the lid down. Keep it closed while cooking for consistent heat - doing so locks both flavor and moisture in.
