Smoking Egg

Ingredients

  • 1 ball of prepared pizza dough
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Fresh basil leaves (optional)

Instructions

Serves: 2 to 4

Method: Direct grilling

  1. Set the EGG for indirect cooking with a pizza stone at 500°F/260°C.
  2. Roll out the prepared pizza dough to your desired thickness on a floured surface.
  3. Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
  4. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce.
  5. Brush the edges of the dough with olive oil for a golden crust.
  6. Transfer the pizza to the pizza stone and cook for 8-10 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
  7. Remove from the EGG, top with fresh basil leaves if desired, slice, and serve immediately.
