Distributor Sales Development Manager – West Coast Territory

Description
The Distributor Sales Development Manager will drive revenue growth by leading distributor and dealer relationships, executing strategic sales initiatives, and expanding Big Green Egg’s market share in the outdoor cooking industry. This role requires a hands-on leader with strong industry expertise, a proven ability to exceed targets, and a willingness to travel extensively to support field operations.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve annual revenue targets, with a focus on expanding distribution channels and retail partnerships
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key distributors, dealers, and retail partners through regular in-person meetings (up to 50% travel required).
- Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and customer insights to identify growth opportunities and adjust tactics accordingly.
- Train and support distributor sales teams on product knowledge, merchandising, and demand generation best practices.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Product teams to align sales initiatives with brand campaigns and new product launches.
- Monitor sales performance metrics (e.g., sell-in, sell-through) and provide actionable feedback to partners.
- Represent Big Green Egg at industry trade shows, dealer events, and training sessions.
Qualifications
- 7–10 years of sales experience with a documented history of meeting/exceeding targets.
- 3+ years of experience in the outdoor cooking, grill manufacturing, or premium outdoor lifestyle industries. (e.g., grills, smokers, outdoor kitchens)
- Ability to travel up to 50% (including overnight trips for distributor visits, retail audits, and industry events).
- Strong analytical skills to interpret sales data and market trends.
- Exceptional relationship-building skills with distributors, retailers, and internal teams.
- (Preferred) Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- (Preferred) Experience with HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar CRM tools.
- (Preferred) Background in managing multi-channel sales (e.g., specialty retail, e-commerce, distributors).
