An EGGtoberfest First: Our Partnership with Atlanta Community Food Bank

An EGGtoberfest First: Our Partnership with Atlanta Community Food Bank

For more than 25 years, we’ve celebrated the live-fire community alongside our fellow EGGheads with a huge fall cook-out aptly named EGGtoberfest. But this year, we’ve got a first.

For EGGtoberfest 2025, we’ve committed to donating the net proceeds from the event to the Atlanta Community Food Bank to help fight hunger across Georgia.

Each year, EGGtoberfest brings us together to honor the tradition of live-fire cooking. We gather to feast with our friends and neighbors, celebrating the true meaning of community togetherness. It was only natural that we extend this passion into serving meals long after the last of the charcoal runs out at the event.

As a company, we’ve always had a heart for service and giving back; gathering friends, family, and neighbors together through food is how we choose to do it. It’s part of our purpose and why we exist.

“We believe in bringing people together through food and value partners who feel the same way. We teamed up with our friends at the Atlanta Community Food Bank, brought together by a shared purpose: feeding our neighbors, together.”

- Michele Morris, Head of Marketing at Big Green Egg

EGGtoberfest is a sellout every year, and we’re creating even more opportunities to join us by increasing the number of tickets available. By making the event even bigger, we’re expecting more than 5,000 to show up and show out this year, translating into donations of at least 75,000 meals to our metro Atlanta neighbors experiencing food insecurity.

Our Friends at Atlanta Community Food Bank

The mission of Atlanta Community Food Bank is simple: to fight hunger by engaging, educating, and empowering. Food insecurity is a community problem, and a real one at that. Communities need their neighbors to pitch in any way they can to solve it.

That’s where the ACFB comes in. It serves 29 counties in metro Atlanta—not just the city of Atlanta itself. The organization works with partners to get food distributed through a network of 700 nonprofit organizations from Gwinnett to Rome to Jonesboro.

Every year, they distribute 113 million meals through its partners, like traditional food pantries, congregations, senior centers, child care centers, YMCAs… anywhere hungry neighbors gather and need support.

In addition to providing food on the table, the organization also connects neighbors with other programs that help them escape the cycle of poverty, like public benefits such as SNAP and Medicaid.

Due to rising prices of everything from household goods to groceries, there has been a 60% increase in families seeking food assistance from the ACFB over the last three years. 820,000 people in the food bank’s service area are food insecure. Recent changes to The Emergency Food Assistance Program have impacted the Atlanta Community Food Bank; they lost about 10 million pounds of food, or roughly five weeks' worth.

“Food insecurity isn’t just a lack of calories. That’s part of it, but food carries so much meaning. It’s what gathers communities together and carries on family traditions… it creates a sense of peace, well-being, and happiness. When we fight hunger, we build strong, healthy, joyful communities. And that’s exactly what Big Green Egg does; they create huge celebrations by sharing meals and breaking bread together. [This partnership is a] wonderful alignment with our model and mission.”

- Greg Sims, Director of Institutional Giving at Atlanta Community Food Bank

All About EGGtoberfest

EGGtoberfest is an annual food festival in our hometown of Atlanta, Georgia. Attendees get to sample (unlimited!) bites from 200+ Big Green Eggs and fantastic chefs behind them. We also host live demos with Egg pros, music, giveaways, cold drinks, and best of all—good vibes.

If you want to show off your Egg skills, you can sign up for a cook tent, your entry into the tasting awards. We provide the equipment (two Large Eggs, charcoal, two convEGGtors, a tent, and a serving table) and you cook up at least 500 bite-sized samples throughout the event.

And if you’re more into sampling the delicious food, well, all you have to do is buy a ticket and show up ready to dig in! Choose from General Admission or Premium Ticket Packages—but everyone can enjoy endless tastings, Egg demos, free parking, and two complimentary drink tickets.

Those coming to EGGtoberfest to shop will be happy to hear we offer event-only pricing on Demo Eggs (the ones only used once during the festival!) plus tons of cool merch, accessories, and exclusive gear you can’t find anywhere else.

EGGtoberfest 2025 is going down on Coolray Field on Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Tickets must be purchased in advance. Kids under 10 get in free.
