Job Description:

As the Sr Accountant for Big Green Egg, you will be responsible for managing the monthly financial close process, ensuring that reports are both timely and accurate, and preparing financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Your role will include conducting in-depth financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting to provide strategic insights that support key decision-making. You will ensure that our financial practices are in strict compliance with all legal requirements and collaborate closely with the Financial Operations Manager to set financial goals and develop budgets. 

Responsibilities:   

• Manage the monthly financial close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

• Conduct financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.

•  Analyze financial data and provide insights for decision-making.

•  Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements

•  Collaborate with the Financial Operations Manager in developing financial goals and budgets.

• Assist in the preparation of the corporate annual report.

• Participate in financial audits and implement audit recommendations.

• Maintain an adequate system of accounting records and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets to mitigate risk.

•  Oversee the end to end process of sales and use tax compliance. 

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. MBA or relevant certification (e.g., CPA) is a plus.

• Proven experience as a Senior Accountant or similar role, preferably in the manufacturing industry.

• Strong knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws, and best practices.

•  Proficiency in MS Office and financial management software.

•  Excellent organizational and leadership skills.

•  Superior communication and interpersonal abilities.

•  Analytical mindset with strategic abilities.

•  Profound knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods.

Physical Work Requirements:

Sedentary Work involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
